5 Minute Smoothies

I most recently did a one day juice cleanse (The Hard Cleanse from Juice Served Here) and I realized that I actually really enjoy “drinking” my food! Since I finished the juice cleanse, I’ve been really big on smoothies for breakfast, but the problem is I am an extremely busy gal. Usually, I rise super early to make time to wakeup peacefully and engage in some meditation. After that, my life is go go go. Sometimes when I am rushing home from a workout just to go rush to one of my jobs, I need a quick, filling breakfast.

I see a lot of recipes out there for “5 minute” meals, but normally they take longer than 5 minutes to make. These smoothies ACTUALLY take less than 5 minutes to make. Although I love to add lots of superfoods, proteins, nut butter, seeds, collagen, herbs, etc. Sometimes, I don’t have the time, and that’s totally okay! A smoothie is still a healthy smoothie with just some good ol’ fruits and veggies!

Pro Tip: The night before the morning you are going to make your smoothie, place all of your frozen ingredients that you are going to use for the smoothie in one baggy, and throw it in the freezer. You can do the same for the refrigerated ingredients. That way, all you have to do is pull out one or two baggies out of the fridge/freezer and throw it in the blender! But, believe it or not, even if you don’t use this method to prep your smoothie the night before, these smoothies will still only take you 5 minutes or less!

Simple Berry Smoothie

I LOVE reusing the glass juice bottles from CityPress Juice & Bottle

Ingredients

1 large handful of organic spinach

1 small handful of frozen mixed berries

1/2 cup Harmless Harvest Coconut Water

2 tbsp hemp seeds

1 tbsp walnuts

*I use a very small, handheld blender to make my smoothies. If you have access to a larger blender, feel free to double the recipe!*

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth
  • Add more Harmless Harvest Coconut Water as necessary if fruit isn’t blending

Suggestions

  • Top with raw, peeled almonds (for how to peel them, click here)
  • Add 1/2 scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

Jicama Peach Smoothie

I LOVE reusing the glass juice bottles from CityPress Juice & Bottle

Ingredients

5 frozen jicama sticks

1 fresh peach

1 large handful spinach

1/2 cup Harmless Harvest Coconut Water

*I use a very small, handheld blender to make my smoothies. If you have access to a larger blender, feel free to double the recipe!*

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth
  • Add more Harmless Harvest Coconut Water as necessary if fruit isn’t blending
Fun find at Whole Foods: “Flying Disc Peaches” (regular peaches taste the same and work just as well for the smoothie)

Suggestions

  • Top with raw nut butter of your choice
  • Add 1/2 scoop of Vital Proteins Beauty Greens (I taste tasted this, it’s good!)
