I recently became obsessed with drinks by Rebbl. The ingredients are absolutely amazing and they’re completely Paleo, Vegan, you name it. The Chai drink is super tasty, but it’s even better in a smoothie.
If you’re unaware of the benefits of Ashwagandha, you’re definitely missing out. Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb best known for lowering cortisol and balancing thyroid hormones. High cortisol can lead to a multitude of symptoms including stress, anxiety, depression, high blood sugar, etc. Lowering cortisol can be done in a variety of natural ways including using adaptogens. The amazing thing about Ashwagandha’s role in balancing thyroid hormones is that it’s been shown to help people with both hypo and hyper thyroid issues. Adaptogenic herbs like Ashwagandha bring your body back into balance whether your levels are high or low.
Ashwagandha also helps people struggling with adrenal fatigue. Your adrenal glands are responsible for releasing hormones (cortisol and adrenaline) into your body. If your body experiences too much emotional, physical, or mental stress, it can cause adrenal fatigue which then leads to imbalanced hormones, which is where Ashwagandha can help!
Deciding to start using adaptogens is an amazing choice (I am not a doctor and Ashwagandha has some potential side effects so do your research or consult with your doctor if you think it’s necessary before beginning to incorporate adaptogens into your daily routine). Starting to use adaptogens can also be a bit overwhelming because there are so many kinds out there and so many ways to ingest them. These Rebbl drinks have made it extremely accessible to start using adaptogens like Ashwagandha, and incorporating them in a smoothie makes it that much yummier!
4 large pieces frozen cauliflower
3 large pieces frozen strawberries
3 fresh strawberries
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 Rebbl Ashwagandha Chai drink
*I use a very small, handheld blender to make my smoothies. If you have access to a larger blender, feel free to double the recipe!*
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth
- Add more Ashwagandha Chai Rebbl Drink as necessary if fruit isn’t blending
- Make it a smoothie bowl: top with chia seeds and my FAVORITE Paleo Grain Free Granola: Paleo Passion Foods Maple Granola
